Indian Lawyers Meeting on Tibet held in Delhi

New Delhi, December 10 – India Tibet Coordination Office today organized an Indian Lawyers Meeting on Tibet at Patiala Court Conference Hall in New Delhi. Mr. J.P. Sharma (Adv.), Convener Delhi Region welcomed all the lawyers present in the meeting and introduced Dr. Trikha, National Convener of Indian Core Group for Tibetan Cause.

Dr. Trikha in his keynote address he said, “The issue of Tibet is a issue of India’s security, integrity and stability with growth. It also has a direct concern not only with our environment but also with our culture, tradition and religion”. He also highlighted the alarming situation inside Tibet concerning gross human rights violation, population transfer and birth control to eradicate the Tibetan identity.

While extending gratitude to all the lawyers for their support to the cause of Tibet, ITCO Coordinator urged the meeting to form an Indian Lawyers Group for Tibet. The meeting reciprocated with an assurance that by December 15, the Delhi region convener Mr. J.P. Sharma will come out with the list of members for the formation of above group.

The meeting convened under the banner of Indian Core Group for Tibetan Cause was also to commemorate the International Human Rights day. The meeting strongly denounce the ongoing human rights violation inside Tibet and appealed the Peoples’ Republic of China to release all the Tibetan political prisoners including young Panchen Lama and Tulku Tenzin Delek Rinpoche.
