In the Garden City and Silicon Valley of Bangalore the awareness program organized by the Tibetan Youth Congress under the title TIBET & INDIA?s Security was warmly welcomed by Christ college, St.Joseph?s college of Arts and Science, National Law School of India University and Jyoti Nivas Degree college for girls on 8th and 9th December. It was attended by more than 150 students, Lecturers, Professors, Principal and Father of the concerned college. Principal of the Jyoti Nivas Degree College for girls Sister Philomena concluded the program stating that this is the first time and an eye opening awareness program in the college. She assured that such kinds of awareness programs will be organized more in the college campus in the years to come in collaboration with the Tibetan students and with the administration.
In the colleges and University of Bangalore the program went on for more than 2 hours at each college with Tibetan Culture program, talk by the eminent speakers such as Mr. A.P. Venkateshwaran, Former Foreign Secretary, Government of India, Mr.Tenpa Tsering, Former Minister in the Tibetan Government in Exile, Mr. F.T.R. Colaso, President of Indo Tibetan Friendship Society and former Deputy General of Police (Karnataka State), Dr. Dorjee Rabten, Chief Medical Officer Bangalore, Mr. Ramesh Vice President of Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress (I) and Miss Dolma Choephel, Joint Secretary of Tibetan Youth Congress.
Mr. A.P. Venkateshwaran spoke about the then Prime Ministers blunder on the foreign policy and referred about recent Indian Prime Ministers visit to China as a failure. He mentioned about the good moral values of Tibetans and expressed about the virtue of Buddhism. Mr. Venkateshwaran shared the Chinese nature and his experiences during his tenure as an Ambassador to China. Concluded wishing that TIBET shall be free and its values shall be prevailed. As such the other Indian eminent personalities spoke why the Tibet cause is important for India and we have to work together for the betterment of our future the interest of both the countries.
After the series of talks it was well responded with the questions and suggestions to work further for the cause of Tibet in the interest of India?s security by the Indian youths and students in different colleges. Many of the Indian youths enrolled in the Indo Tibetan Friendship society of the Bangalore. Some of them even stood up saying that they are going to have a joint action programs in the college campus and to form an INDIAN STUDENTS for FREE TIBET. The program concluded by screening the documentary film show ?Tibet A Cry of Snow Lion?. Distributed more than 6500 leaflets of Tibet & India?s Security, Posters, Tibet the Facts booklet etc.
The Awareness program has reached the city of Mysore for 3 days (11, 12, 13 December).
