Tibetans seek support for freedom of homeland

Vijayawada, December 4 – Tibetan Youth Congress information secretary Jigme Ghadong on Thursday called upon the students to mount pressure on the Indian government to help the Tibetans get freedom. Interacting with the students of Andra Loyala College, Ghadong, who is on his nation-wide campaign in favour of Tibet, said the Central government should change its foreign policy and accept the Tibetan government in exile as the legitimate representative of the Tibetans.

Ghadong launched the campaign on November 24 at Dharwad University to meet the students of universities and university colleges in Kerala, Chennia, Banglore, Mysore, Manglore, Hyderbad, Vijayawada, Pune and Mumbia.

The campaign was launched to create awareness amoung Indian students on the problem of Tibet and seek their support in mounting pressures on India and other international governments.

Ghadong wanted the students to convince their local legislators, Parliament members and Human rights organisational to take up the Tibet issue. He also urged the students to convince the Indian government to mount pressure on China to release 11th Panchen Lama and other political prisoners.

He also wanted the students to influence the Indian government to intervene and stop the execution of death sentence to Tibetan leader Tulku Tenzin.
