HH the Dalai lama to visit Tabo, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Delhi and Ladakh

Dharamsala, May 21 – His Holiness the Dalai Lama departed Mcleod Ganj this morning for an extended one and a half month visit to Tabo(Spiti), Germany Sweden , Denmark, Delhi and Ladakh.

Arriving in Tabo(Spiti) on May 21st His Holiness is scheduled to stay for four days during which He is expected to be giving a short initiation and teaching to the public. His Holiness departs for Delhi on May 26th and thereafter for Frankfurt, Germany on May 28th.

His Holiness will be meeting with the Chief Minister of Hessen State, Mr Roland Koch, during His one-day stop in Frankfurt. On May 29th His Holiness will arrive in Berlin, Germany. His Holiness’ main program in Berlin is scheduled for May 30th when He will address the First Ecumenical Kirchentag (Congress) on the topic Peace Without Violence:Buddhist Concept of Non-violence and Its Consequences for Political and Individual Behaviour. This five-day Congress is being jointly organized by the two big Christian lay movements: the Central Committee of German Catholics and the German Prostestant Kirchentag. More than 120,000 Christians and members of other religions are expected to attend this historic Congress being held from May 28th to June 1st. His Holiness is also expected to be meeting with members of the German Parliamentary Group for Tibet. On May 31st His Holiness will arrive in Munich , Germany where he will be addressing on June 1st the concluding ceremony of a three day Conference on Eastern Medicine. His Holiness is also scheduled to give a public talk at the Munich Olympic Hall on June 1st on A Human Approach to world Peace. This is His Holiness’ 25th visit to Germany. On June 2nd, His Holiness departs for Stockholm, Sweden.

The Sigtuna Foundation at a ceremony organized on June 3rd in Stokholm will present His Holiness with a Sigtuna Medal. His Holiness will also address members of the Swedish Parliament at the Parliament Building. In the evening, His Holiness is scheduled to give a talk at the Globe Theatre on Non violence and Peace. This is His Holiness’ 8th visit to Sweden. On June 4th His Holiness departs for Copenhagen, Denmark.

His Holiness’ main program in Copenhagen will be His five-day teachings on The Six Paramitas scheduled from June 5th to 9th at the Falconer Hall. On June 5th evening His Holiness is scheduled to give a public talk on Universal Responsibility. This is His Holiness 6th visit to Denmark. On June 10th, His Holiness departs for India.

His Holiness will be presenting the Sulabh International Social Service Organization’s first Man of Letters Award to Mr. Balmiki Prasad Singh, former Home secretary of India at a function in Delhi on June 11th afternoon. On June 12th His Holiness departs to Ladakh.

During His approximately three-week stay in Ladakh. His Holiness is expected to visit Leh, Nyoma, Hanle and Bodhkarpo. His Holiness is also expected to give a teaching in Leh for the general public. His Holiness is scheduled to return to Dharamsala on July 3rd.
