Bharat Jagaran Yatra “Flagged off

Bharat Jagaran Yatra organised by TYC (Tibetan Youth Congress) and BTSM (Bharat Tibat Sayog Muanch) is flagged off from Dharamsala by Shree. Rakesh Bharati , Additional advocate general of H.P at Mcleod Ganj on 1st March, 2003. Despite heavy rain, hundreds of Indians and Tibetans gathered to see off the Bharat Jagaran Yatra. Addressing the gathering, Shree. Kalsang Phuntso Godrukpa, Dr. Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri, converner of BTSM, Achariya Yeshi Phuntsok, Mr. Karma Choephel member of Tibetan parliament, stressed upon the Indian public the raise the Tibetan issue in their respective assembly and stress their government to address the Tibetan problem with Chinese Government. Speaker insisted that, Independence of Tibet is crucial to the security of Northern India. Speakers stressed that Indians and Tibetans to have a joint front to oppose the expantionist policy of China. Present at the function were, Mr. Sunil Manocha, General Secretary of BTSM, Mr Dawa Tsering MP, Mr. Jigme, information secretary of TYC and leader of Bharat Jagaran Yatra.

Participants of Yatra, were garlanded with white Khada by most of NGO’s inculding TWA. Indian participant Mr. Bhagat Singh Kinnaur received special applause and appreciation from public.

Bharat Jagaran Yatra path marched toward Kangra, Palampur, Baijnath. At all these places Yatri’s addressed press conference besides distributing information leaflets at various villages and cities. A great enthusiasm was seen and Bharat Jagaran Yatra was greeted every where with the slogans of “ Tibbat Ki Azadi Bharat ka Suraksha” “ Tibbat Ki Mukti Kailash Ki Mukti” Shree Bhagat Singh Kinnuar, secretary of Manch, demanded that India government should take steps to regain Indian land from China and consider to correct her policy on Tibet. Bharat Jagaran Yatra will pass through Jogindarnagar, Mandu, Kullu, today. Similar Yatra’s were flagged off from different part of India today.
