Patna, January 7 – A major fire has completely destroyed Patna’s famous Lhasa woollen market.

Tibetan refugees set up this market every winter and for many of them earnings made in Patna see them through the year.

The fire broke out at midnight and soon spread over the entire area destroying more than a hundred shops. The police are still investigating the cause of the fire and suspect electrical short circuit as the reason.

The fire is a loss even for people in Patna who get bargain woollen garments at the Lhasa market.
